Hello, I have almost finished my revision of the Health and Safety Policy at our company. However, I want to consider environmental factors in this.
We are involved in surveying so to me the elements I need to consider are waste, company vehicle using, use of energy (lighting etc).
I am looking at other environmental factors if I can have some specialist input please?

I would bear in mind that if by policy, you are referring to the "statement of intent" you do not want detail - these come in your targets and objectives, not your policy statement. For environment you should have more general goals in your policy statement such as "continual improvment", "compliance with legislation" and "pollution prevention" etc which come from 14001. Other things to include are things such as "energcy efficiency" and aiming towards "sustainaibility" and "zero waste / emmissions" and so on.

Bear in mind that these are GOALS which may take a long time to achive but in your TARGETS you can be specific eg "reduce energy consumption by 20%" or " reduce landfill by 20%" in the next year.

Hope this helps.

If you have not written this from the start with a view to integrating the environmental then you will likely need to start again. You need to look from a different perspective and define terms that cover both E and H&S terminologies.. More than that is a cost worthy item and not a freebie on a forum.
