Does anyone have a simply lifting plan template for forklift truck lifting operations that they would be willing to share?

Hi
Could you explain this a bit more, you may get some responses then. I have worked with MHE for over 10 years, and I am not sure what it is you are after.

Shouldn't be too hard this one. Write down what items you will be lifting 'only' with the forklift in the workplace, pallets, drums any attachments hooked up and ensure that they can be lifted by the FLT safely with the rated capacity.

FLT must be trained and authorised etc...

Under BS 7121 it would come under basic lifts.

Is this not covered in a risk assesment. Very difficult to develop a specific lift plan for a forklift as the loads it lifts can vary considerably.

Hmm, I'm not so sure that a lift plan for a fork lift truck exists as there is no requirement for it in legislation and I have never produced one. As long as a risk assessment has been carried out and that the fork lifts are suitable for the type of work, environment and loads then this should suffice. BS 7121 is relevant to crane operations and lorry loaders, not for fork lift trucks.
