I quite agree with you Frank but the great and the good within IOSH deem it that you have to not only be CMIOSH but have Director level experience and a colleague of mine had to get a number of Director level references before he could register to deliver this. However, several years ago I engaged an IOSH registered instructor to deliver this course and he was, quite frankly, rubbish. He lost the attention of the delegates and was slated by them after the course. I used to deliver high level environmental briefs to senior people and feel I'd be just as capable of delivering this course but not allowed to. Ho Hummm

Basicially all you have to do to become a director is to register a limited company where you appoint yourself as the managing director etc. [or any other such formal title as takes your fancy withing the conditions] for which you need have no qualifications nor experience only the fee for companies house!!!

Their Course, their rules, but rules I think are frequently bent.

I thought that as members we had a say in the rules, we pay our dues like other members it seems a bit discriminatory towards tech members particularly as I have a teaching qualification too.
