Under CDM a project needs to be 30 days construction or 500 man hours, do the 30 days include weekends of just 5 working days Monday-Friday?, advise please.

Hi,
Extract from ACoP - Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, 'All days on which construction work takes place count towards the period of construction work. Holidays and weekends do not count if no construction work takes place on these days'.

Paragraph 16 of the ACOP answers your question and this states: “All days on which construction work takes place count towards the period of construction work. Holidays and weekends do not count if no construction work takes place on these days”.

For Notification purposes, I recommend applying a pragmatic yardstick. If you expect the Construction Phase to extend over 30 days, Notify it.
Weekend working isn't always anticipated at the start, but is quite common towards the end of Projects!!
