Scenario - Operative of a sub-contractor engaged by the Principal Contractor causes asbestos to be disturbed, all information regarding the asbestos, it's location etc in place and communicated and asbestos awareness training has been undertaken by operative.
Who is responsible to report this under RIDDOR is the sub-contractor or the Principal Contractor ?
Your thoughts please
Regards

Your site you report it - man up and take the responsibility - providing an air test indicates asbestos has been released

Paul, the Principal Contractor would normally be the person "in control of the premises" and so they should report. Hope that helps.
