Looking for the right bit of legislation that governs the small bottles we pour chemicals into from bigger marked up bottles. Any ideas? We buy a 5 ltr bottle and decant this to a 100ml bottle to make it easier to use, sometimes we go down as far as a 15ml bottle, so its not as simple as buying in smaller bottles. I am looking to ensure we mark up the smaller bottle correctly, currently we put the part number and chemical name and a small flammable sticker if the product is flammable. All help greatfully received - its been a long week and I thought tomorrow was Friday......

You've not said whether the chemicals are for re-sale, in-house use etc. http://echa.europa.eu/do...562/clp_labelling_en.pdf

One place I worked we had pre-printed labels which we laminated and attached to the smaller bottles: we then wrote on the relevant batch no. etc in marker pen in a space provided. If you know that the labels never change this is fine so it depends whether it is always the same chemicals you use. Pre-printed is always a good way to go though as it makes life easier. It also reminds people of the exact information required on the bottle.

This is for in house use only. Good idea Karen, will have a look at this, did you make the label internally?
