I wonder if any one knows of the precautions to take -- I'm having no joy with the data sheets as they are to the American standards the materials are from DOW chemicals and are : betaprime 5500 --250ml beta prime VP01707A+B 100ml betamate adhesive 2700A/B 580ML betaclean 3350 1050ml they are only small quantities

I assume you are going by ferry or the channel tunnel so why not ask your carrier what they specify for this material to be carried they should have the necessary expertise to advise you of what they require. Also check the transport regs in France for anything they may need.

Can you not obtain the same chemicals in France, to save you all this hassle?

If you have the safety data sheets, check in section 14 to see if there is any information regarding transport regulations. If like the one I found for Betaprime 2700A http://www.psvglass.com/pdf/COSHH/DOWE2700ASDS.pdf then there is nothing to be concerned about as no dangerous goods note is required. If however, there is a UN number mentioned then you will have to prepare a DGN for the 'sea' part of the journey. Hope this helps
