Hi,

Has anyone else overcome compatibility issues for staff who have hearing aids but work within an area that requires them to wear hearing protection?

Are there any products available that are wide enough to accommodate both?

Hi planeboy, there was a discussion on this topic some weeks ago but my search has not found it. Maybe you would be able to find it easier than me.

Speaking from personal experience it is impossible to use hearing protection whilst wearing my hearing aid - the acoustic feedback is unbearable. It is necessary to remove my hearing aid if needing hearing PPE. This was also the status of several other posters I seem to recall.

I agree with David. If you try to put normal hearing protection over a digital hearing aid the feedback is painful and certainly completely negates any benefit from the hearing aid. So removal is the only answer. The reality is that this takes just seconds.

Thanks that sounds sensible to me.

Dave is quite correct. I wear two 'amps' and when I need to protect what hearing I have left I remove them, pop them in their cases and on with the protectors. Don't forget to keep your amps clean :-)
