Hi All
Does anyone have a generic checklist they could sent me to look at for plant maintenance e.g. oil change, filters etc. I am currently compiling a list of all the plant we have which will be put on a database and then the associated department will be informed that their piece of equipment is due for service, this will then go to our garage for its service etc. and from this comes the need for a generic form for the mechanics to use to indicat oil changes, new parts ordered etc. of which can then be allocated against that piece of plant (an audit trail, PUWER regs etc.) Thanks in advance for youe help.

Good morning Shaun
You don't identify what type of Plant - so anything here would be very general.
You could start with the Manufacturers Handbooks for the individual items - common items followed by plant-specific items - and also by reference to your own records for maintenance and breakdown repair.

As other have said you don't say what type of plant but the Caterpillar website gives a good range of sample safety and maintenance check sheets for lots of different types of plant that might give you a starting point.

Second the suggestion of the Manufacturer's Handbooks as my experience says that they often have sample paperwork in them somewhere or at least give you everything that needs done and the duration at which it needs done. You may find that one sheet will not do all and that you need various generic records covering groups of plant.
