I think that you would be better off developing your own - you also need to get top down support. If you use a generic presentation it will be harder to get buy in. I would start with defining accidents, near misses etc, than ask what and why we should investigate? Show the Bird triangle etc and try to get people to understand that reporting near misses is a positive things that helps prevent accidents etc. Also, make sure people understand that you will follow up and take action and give feedback on all near misses. It will be hard work. Don't do what we did, whatever you do - ie give out high St vouchers for near misses. Guess what happened next...............

Whatever you do, you need to get everyone to accept that near miss reporting is a good thing and that a high level of near miss reporting relative to actual incident reporting demonstrates a positive engagement by staff in Health and Safety. We have been doing this for 2 years now and although the frontline staff are keen and senior managers accept this, there is still resistance from some parts of middle management.
