Hi
Does anyone have a PDF copy of ISO 9002 I could have a copy of and in particular all of section 7 of the same standard.
I've been asked to look at including the design remit to our accreditation. This will have a knock on effect for our 14001 and 18001 manuals.
If you have only a paper copy then a scanned section 7 will be more that suffice.
Thanks in advance,
Regards
Badger

Eh, Badger, you and your organisation need to get up to date. ISO 9002 no longer exists!!! Since year 2000 !!!!
ISO 9001:2000 replaced all three former standards of 1994 issue (ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003).

I am aware it was withdrawn but it was a useful guide of the time, but , as we no longer have a copy
and being aware that 9001 will be update either next year or year after paying near on £100 for an
obsolete document is a non starter.
As indicated earlier all I need is section & if anyone has an old copy still hanging around.

Badger, £100 for something that you really need sounds worth it !
Anyway, why are you asking for ISO9002 section 7 'design section'?
It is/was section 7 of ISO9001 that covered design.
ISO 9002 set out the requirements for an organization that did NOT carry out design and development, and was identical, I think, to the other parts of 9001.

If 9002 has the design bit that is held in the current 9001 and as 9002 was a guidance paper it 'may' help me find what I'm looking for as stated in the initial posting - information on design.
Have a Copy? PM me ....

Well, Badger, try reading the thread from the start. And then get what you need from Ebay, probably for £1.99

Thanks to the forum members who have offered and provided a copy of the standard as asked for.

Back in the good old days ISO9001 and ISO9002 were identical except that 9002 had the design requirement removed (all as noted above). Then as noted above 9002 and 9003 became defunct and only 9001 existed. Within 9001 you then had to declare if you didn't want to be assessed for design etc.
The standard you need to implement now is ISO9001:2008 and the design element is still in section 7 again as above. More specifically it is 7.3. And goes from 7.3 to 7.3.7.
The change is several years away if they ever manage to agree the wording ( remember it is an international standard)
£100 will be the least of your outlay - sorry
Chris
