Quick question who pays employees to be the appointed person theses days and how much if anything.

There is no rule to say appointed first aiders should be paid for the privelege and although some organisations do offer payment to encourage people to be first aiders none that I have ever worked for do.

We neither pay first aiders or appointed persons

We don't offer any payment - personally I think it could encourage people who don't really want to be First Aiders to take on the duty, then when an incident does occur they can't / won't / don't respond as you would hope they would.
Also, and not sure if this is normal but I've never had a shortage of volunteers.

In the past we paid first aiders a nominal retainer (about £150 / year)
