Hi Just wandered if any one could offer advice/guidance/best practice etc. with regards to dual monitor use at workstaions. We have a small number of users with dual monitors, some use both in equal amounts, others one monitor is the primary monitor.
I would welcome any comments
Thanks

What is the issue? It’s just another monitor on the desk. Same basic advice applies combined with some common sense. Dual monitors are very common in our offices; I use thisset up with one as the master and one used for references etc. We do not seem to have any problems.

If both monitors are used equally then they should be placed symmetrically about the main visual axis of the user. If there is a main monitor, this should be directly in front of the user and the subsidiary screen placed to one side.

As A Kurdziel says - it's just another monitor. Both need to be set up properly (as in, right orientation, position, free from glare / reflection etc) but it's not fundamentally different.
In this office I'd say 70% of our people are on dual at least 22" or a 23" plus a 17".
I favour the approach of a main monitor and a secondary one off to one side, but some people have them arranged symmetrically and work equally on the two. I haven't identified any problems with either approach.
