One for you fire experts out there:

Recently we retrained our fire wardens and a few others in the safe use of fire extinguishers, the new ones were surprised at how quickly it took for an extinguisher to empty. Because we allowed the trainees to use the same extinguisher to "get a feel" of its weight / noise / use and did not use any continually until empty, we started to query how long do the various extinguishers take to empty / fully discharge.

Simple question for simple response (what on this web-site !?!)

Has anyone got a list / table of typical sized extinguishers and their times to fully discharge? (if so can you share this with us / tell us where we could get the info)

Kate.

Dear me, a straightforward response answering a straightforward question isn't in the spirit of this forum at all.

I recommend you do a risk assessment, question your own competence, and report it as a RIDDOR just to be on the safe side ;-)
