Hi all I am looking at sub letting a job I wont be attending site and the principle contractor is aware of this, the sub contractor has produced his rams and they have been approved by myself and forwarded to principle contractor My question What happens if he has an accident on site as he does not comply with the method statement, would I be liable in anyway as I wont be going to site ?

You would all be liable if appropriate assessments of competence have not been undertaken and documented. As a Principal Contractor we do not allow subcontractors to sub-let because of this unless the second subcontractor has also gone thorough our own vigorous assessment process.
