Good Morning, I have just been informed that we are having some work done on site (tomorrow!). The building in question had an asbestos report done as there are some tiles, these have come back as no asbestos detected but what about the adhesive that was used, I would say they have been down for 20 years at least. The work being done is a UPVC is being taken out and a roller door being put in. My concern is that I don't want anyone being exposed to anything harmful. PPE and RPE will be utilised. Any comments are most welcome. Thank you Vicki

Harsh reply. Vcollier you are correct that the adhesive if a birumen style could contain asbestos. However if you have used an approved contractor they should have sampled the tile and bitumen seperately and indicated in the report seperately what the results are. If this is not present within the report then i would be requesting the surveyor re-visit as this is basic and should not have been overlooked, irrespective of the type of survey which was completed.
