Hi guys I know that the above mentioned device only gives an indication of the slip resistance of a floor. The question I keep asking myself is, how accurate is this device? Regards Kofi

kofi17, for me, it's accurate at measuring what it measures. Which is not necessarily the true slip potential of a floorcovering. I use it to tell me whther we may have a problem which needs further investigation or, if the readings are significantly worrying, I just get the covering changed.

I too you this piece of equipment in a similar way to safety amateur in that I use it as a guide to identify if a floor type or cover is around the levels that requires further investigation. I must point out that it does not actually measure for slip resistance indicating like that of the HSE approved pendulum test. It gives you the roughness (RZ) of the surface, the HSE site has further material that will guide you.
