I am involved with a charity bicycle event at the end of this month with about 30 participants covering 50miles on B & C class roads and 5 ferry crossings. We have a lead vehicle and a tail vehicle that will have a first aider / 1st responder , tools, water, supplies. Have carried out a HAZOP covering all the variables that we can think of including the possibility of hot sunny weather. Does anyone have any experience of a similar event and willing to share?

Steve, Thanks for the response, to clarify the first aid cover is a trained St Andrews Ambulance volunteer and comes with the full kit such as oxygen & defib unit, backed up a few of 4day H&S first aiders. From your road trips l am looking for any experience that I can use on this occasion, lesions learnt and happy to supply the HazOp document to you directly to you via a private message to see if I have any gaps.

Ross just be careful with the FA cover and insurance I am sure you have it covered but it is important in the cold light of day to get the boundaries right...the St Andrews guys should be acting on their insurance...?
