We are currently looking to start using I-Auditor to do Health & Safety inspections, audits etc,etc
we have developed several pro-formas to facilitate this.
Is anyone else using this or a similar system and if so what are the pros & cons involved with its usage.

Yeah I use it for Construction, domestic, ladder and vehicle Audits
Fairly simple to use
getting your IT heads to sort out the matrix that captures the inputed audit findings took us a while but saves so much time and paperwork.
Although I have never been a big fan of Apple the apple tablet I use for I auditor is pretty cool.
we use 3G connection to send audits files etc.
I wouldnt be to impressed having to go back to our old system if we lost the I - Auditor version of Auditing

We did use I-Auditor, until one of our auditors (Sonny) went rogue and disobeyed the 3 laws (1. You must always find something wrong, no matter how trivial. 2. You must never acknowledge anything positive. 3. You must always give the impression you know the best about everything).
He was actually helping the client, until he was hunted down by Will Smith & Bridget Moynahan of our SHE department.

I've used I-Auditor extensively during the last 3 months to do Fire Risk Assessments, emergency evacuation planning and internal H&S audits.
My opinion - Promises a lot but is reallly difficult to deliver, especially if you need to create from scratch. The one real failing it has, which I'm told is being worked on, is that when you identify a required action it doesn't hold the facility to sweep all of these up into a single action page.
If you present this to the person in charge and they have to thumb through a 6 page document to see what they need to do I've found that it doesn't happen. Likewise it makes closing out actions a real administrative nightmare.
The latest update they did to the templates also has problems. If you flick back too fast the pages dont refresh so you get overlay.
Apart from that I think it's got potential, but as it's not a subscription system it's unlikely updates are going to be done double quick time.

I use the I-Auditor to carry out on site assessments for fire, general inspections and also to record face fit testing results and my job sheet! I find it really useful, in place of a paper, pen and camera. I have linked it with my drop-box account so everything is uploaded and I have a word document template on my PC and use the notes taken on site to populate this. I can add the information recorded on the I pad, and the photos, into the word document to produce the report. It took a bit of playing with to get it in the format I use, but I now find it invaluable. I have had some issues with it in the past, but an e-mail to the app developer is always answered, usually the same day. I would thoroughly recommend this app, once you have made it suit your requirements.

I use I Auditor for a range of tasks, Site inspections, safety audits and I love it. I don't find it difficult, love the scoring system and the ability to make the questions intuitive, media recorded. It's invaluable for Audits and site inspections, reports done and dusted and e-mailed to your desk before you can say motorway snarl ups.
