Hi - Whilst social landlords have a duty to provide adequate smoke detectors does anyone know if there is any requirement for these to be tested on a regular basis whilst the tenancy is in place?

Oops this is something I did not know about - mssy could you let me know where it is laid down so I can inform my managers.

I rent a house privately and my tenancy agreement states that I will test the smoke alarms that are fitted - I think it is quite common these days to find that in tenancy agreements. My burnt toast sometimes does the job for me though I have to admit :-)
