Hi all,

Does anyone have an idea as to whether fire extinguishers are legally required in common areas within private residences.

thanks

Hi,

No. They are not. Provision of portable fire fighting equipment would be dependent on the findings of the fire risk assessment.

some people are removing them or not installing them to avoid the issue of training. whether or not this is the right thing to do will continue to be debated for a long time but there is no stipulation.
