Hi all, Was just wondering if there is any requirement to "service" or have inspections on external metal staircases? Been looking around and cannot seem to find any guidance. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Health, Safety & Welfare Regs - requirement to maintain property/building etc in a fit condition. Health & Safety at Work Act - general duty as above Building Regs probably say something If designated as a fire escape - RRFSO - Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order - adequate maintenance British Standard on ladders/steps etc - very likely to have a section as regards maintenance General duty of care at common law
