I believe I read somewhere that the old waste transfer is to disappear and may be replaced with just a purchase order or similar. The trouble is I cannot find where I came across that snippet of information. Current web search is not bearing fruit.
Would anyone be able to point me to the correct website please and thanks.

This is however not the simple switch it seems as the requirements for detailed information will have to be contained in whatever document you produce. Many forms will have to be drastically amended so the transfer note could still exist with a different name.

Thanks Alan and Bob. I was in the middle of an audit and knew I had seen the info as given on the web as provided by Alan but just could not find it.
Once again the forum has triumphed!

Further to the responses I've had from forum members the Environment agency has finally responded with the reply below: '... As my colleague mentioned you can use the new EDOC system or continue to use paper transfer notes. These do not have to be the standard waste transfer notes we provide on our website. You can formulate your own to include invoice or receipts for services provided , however it must still include information as set out in the guidance to describe the waste, quantities, waste hierarchy, details of the parties involved and signatories. https://www.gov.uk/gover...e-transfer-note-templateI trust you will find this useful. If you have any further queries, please do let us know and we will be happy to assist. Until the EA systems crash and they deny all knowledge:-) and threaten prosecution for failing to keep records etc. Always keep your own copy is my maxim.
Note the sting as I say - any document has to have ALL the transfer note info so why reinvent the wheel. But do be aware of waste companies who develop their own and often do not include all relevant information. Me I would stick with the TN - at least I know nothing has been omitted by some whizz person wanting to make things look better or easier to fill in.
