Anybody have experience of installing a CCTV system?

I am informed that it cannot be used as a tool for generally improving H&S, nor can it be used for generally monitoring operatives behaviour.
Any help on what it can and cannot be used for would be gratefully appreciated.

My brain has boiled over and I am not remembering anything today.

However, there is guidance on cctv - which I think might be on the Government or police website though this may refer to public places rather than work place.
I do know that the public places cctv you can't pull an employee up if they do something and you see it on the cctv. For example, I was auditing the cctv control room (many years ago) and saw one of the refuse guys smoking whilst emptying bins - he was wearing his gloves. We weren't allowed to say anything officially but when I had a friendly word with him he said that as I said that no smoking with dirty hands he wore his gloves (sorry side tracked there!)
Perhaps whatever site took over from Direct gov may have info.

Sorry not much more help

They are brilliant for accident investigations, especially when it involves MHE and Racking (mainly unreported damage). It has also helped defend a few claims in the past.

It was a suggestion from our Company's insurers that we have CCTV systems fitted throughout our warehouses to help with injury claims.
It has helped us on quite a few occasions to establish fraudulent and indeed genuine claims and our claims culture has dropped since these system were installed.
Further benefits:-
It as cut the number of thefts down and as also picked up a number of incidents were collision damage as occurred and not been reported.
