I have had a query from the rig i am assigned to but am struggling to find an answer. Does anybody know if there is a UK requirement as to how often a mattress in an offshore cabin should be changed? Apparently in Norway it is every 3 years due to hygiene issues.

Some of the guys are complaining as the mattress's recently underwent a deep clean and this has deformed and made them harder. As a result some of the crew are complaining that they are getting sore backs.
