Mike the list is endless.
If you go on the CPA site to the Tower Crane Interest Group there are various downloads that will assist. They are in nearly human language so are beneficial.

Thanks for the reference Alex. All CPA downloads are free - have a look around. As I'm one of the "nearly humans" at CPA - let me know where the language strays from human & we'll try to do better next time.

What kinda info are you after? CPA is great resource.
In the past, I've worked with TC's. And the following I think are importants;
1. Crane bases/ legs to be cast properly with required reinforcement (unlike the crane that fell a few years back)
2. Slew radius and neighbours - find this out and settle before the TC goes up, had an issue in Baker Street, London years ago as we were encroaching into a neighbours air space!
3. Flight paths (depending on your location)
4. Inspections - very very important, and trust the driver. I had one of my drivers inform me that his crane felt odd, got it checked and it turned out there was an issue with the slew ring (if it were left any longer then the top section would have come off).
5. Security - ensure there is adequate security in order to prevent others from gaining access.
6. Im sure the crane has been selected with the max possible weights in mind.
7. Lift File - I used to have 1 file for each crane, and it had all info in there, the Lift Plan was a seperate folder to combine all info.
I could go on!

No I like the CPA Downloads as they are there for the working man unlike the gobblygook in in certain Regulations and BS.
Sorry I know a few of the CPA people and they will tell you I don,t flower words.

Just to add to the list above.
Consider driver fitness / access - it can take quite a while to climb using the standard ladders. You may also want to consider emergency responces e.g. driver has a heart attack. Generally i have found the local fire & rescue service to be a great resource if you are willing to allow them to conduct rescue excercises from your TC, and can be great publicity for the site.
One of the things i found most useful on a previous site was holding daily meetings with the appointed person, crane drivers & lift supervisors to ensure coordination of the multiple cranes (don't forget to include the mobile operators).
Other than that, the CPA is a great source of information that even i can understand.

Also have a robust and self sufficient rescue plan that doesn't include "dial 999/112" as your opening line.
