Hi all,
Does a NEBOSH Cert in fire safety and risk management allow someone to gain Tech status?
I have looked on NEBOSH's WEB page and it says that it does, however, dont you need to also have NGC1 to qualify? I keep hearing 2 different things?

Hi Mick
The NEBOSH Fire Cert consists of :
NGC1 (Health safety Intro) FC1 (Fire risk Management theory) FC2 (Practical)
So you will complete the NGC1 if you do the fire cert. and as far as i know it does qualify for TechIOSH status.
I did this certificate and found it very usefull and interesting.
Hope this helps
Good luck

Please dont forget your experience is taken into account also for Tech Status. I did both ngc and fire but as far and found them both worth it. It may be worth just calling IOSH for clarification.

Yeah, back when I got my NEBOSH Gen Cert (2007) I applied for Tech and they asked how many years I had been in a H&S role; I'd been an H&S manager for 8 years, also have a science degree, and was accepted.
