Hello everyone.

First of all I'd like to apologize for any mistakes or typos. English is not my mother tongue.
Last couple of weeks I sent several inquiries to IOSH's email trying to figure out what membership category I could reach (aiming to GRAD IOSH) with my Portuguese qualifications and didn't get any answer.

I read the membership structure and requirements and I guess I fall into Grad IOSH, because I have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with good safety component (Level 6 EQF), a post university course in Occupational Safety which is level 6 EQF too as required, I am a "Senior Occupational Safety Practitioner" (Professional title given to EQF level 6 in occupational safety over here) and I have a few years experience in the Construction and Oil and Gas safety management.

Do I need to be a member and pay for the fee without knowing for sure if my overseas qualifications are recognized to get an answer? Is there anyone from overseas with EU qualifications that is a member and could shed some light into this matter?

Thank you

if your qualification is listed in the approved qualifications list then it will be alright, else you may have to ask IOSH for an assessment of your qualification (GBP 20) and if IOSH approved your qualifications for the Grad IOSH status you can join and need to pay only the balance of the joining fee.. but I think you should be ok with the assessment since its a EU qualification..

I am not sure there is any change in this as of now......try to send the mail to ''membership@iosh.co.uk'' again and they will come back within 5 days mostly..

good luck mate

regards,

Pradeesh
