Hi,
I am looking to better understand the term "on or near services", as referred to within HSE publication HSG47 Avoiding Danger from Underground Services.
Specifically I am interested in understanding the extent to which this term applies to site investigation work, and also what the definition of 'near' is defensibly taken to be. Can anyone provide any information on this?
I am not currently aware of any case histories associated with underground services, although I am undertaking an ongoing review of case material that I have access to. Specifically, I am interested in case studies which relate to the investigation of incidents associated with site investigation and cable/service strikes.
These queries have arisen as part of my company's annual review upon our internal procedures for service avoidance.
Any advice or direction on this topic would be appreciated. Thanks!
