I've always inlcuded emergency procedures within my asbestos management plan. When visiting another company recently I noticed that they had no emergency procedures in their plan; they stated that this was not necessary as they had a separate laminated sheet on emergency procdures on the notice board. It seemed to be a good idea which I'd like to follow. But is it ok for them not to duplicate in the plan?

Liz, perhaps the most essential element of the emergency plan is that staff know what to do when needed, in a timely manner and accurately. How this is communicated will vary from organisation to organisation. Thus if they are confident that their emergency plan is adequately communicated and readily available for rapid reference then I suggest that their approach is OK for them.
