Can I ask the forum's opinion please
We have a number of buildings that are adjacent to each other.
Once everyone is at the muster point and accounted for, rather than wait in a carpark for the firebrigade would it be acceptable for the staff to go next door and shelter/ assist that building workforce.
The fire warden for the building would stay to meet the brigade.
To me is seems sensible.

There is no requirement to keep everyone hanging about in the open. The fire service will want to know if everyone is accounted for and if not, where the missing persons might be within the buildings.
We have several sites that use buildings as assembly points (for weather cover) and one city centre premises where staff just walk away and find a coffee shop!!(They are called back in by a mass text!)

This approach is common in large office buildings in places like central London-once the building has been evacuated and everyone accounted for, the people are told to go away until they are called back. It even has a trendy name-Starburst!
