What's the difference between Non-Licenced work and Notifiable Non-licenced work? Answers will be gratefully received

Alan, Generally, Licensed materials are concentrated and more likely to give off fibres if disturbed like pipe lagging, Asbestos Insulating Board (AIB), Loose fill or Sprayed on coatings (Steel beam type coatings). The remaining selection of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) are generally considered to be non-licensed materials such as asbestos cement, plastics, bitumen, paper, millboard etc. The Notifiable Non-Licensed Asbestos category is where traditionally non-licensed materials are in poor condition and likely to give off a high number of fibres if disturbed. Licensed work is notifiable to the HSE anyway, due to the hazardous nature of the substances in question, but if Non-licensed materials are likely to give off lots of fibres, then you have to notify the HSE too.
