Hello All

Does anyone have an example of a hazard and risk register please, I have one but reviewing it I feel it is a little overboard and could do with simplifying it and therefore would like to benchmark against other examples.

Thanks Shaun

Do keep these things simple!
I started one a few years ago and it has been added to extended and amended so much so that keeping it upto date is a massive job and it does not supply any useful information!

Just a reminder for 18001 that it is a risk register 'and others' they are looking for.

I recently fell into this trap during a recent 18001 audit, whereas I had to add other regulatory requirements and good practice.

Taking aside 18001 is there a legal requirement to have a risk register or is it just good practice. What are the true benefits of it?

Toe what do you mean 'and others'?

I don't believe their is a specific legal requirement in the context we are discussing here.

The benefit for me is that when my organisation (a) acquires a new company as part of the Group, or (b) builds some new dedicated infrastructure I can sit down in advance with the right project team and identify the significant and foreseeable risks associated with this.

This allows us to develop our management system to meet any new risks - planning to control the risks. It has proven very effective used this way, oh and our 18001 auditor likes the transparency of it!
