Buzz, it's tin actually.

Moving on, I have never actually purchased or even used the HSL's Safety Climate Tool but, many years ago when the original version was produced by the HSE I was able to...er, 'compare' it with something I was planning to do as part of my research for a MSc. The HSE's tool was very expensive then, having just checked the new HSL tool it is extortionate in my opinion.

I have since designed and implemented a number of safety climate surveys and in my view this is a better way of doing a safety culture survey for a number of reasons - not to mention ackers. There may be a few disadvantages in designing your own - for example, benchmarking against an industry specific sector. However in reality benchmarking is very hit and miss even within your own industry sector.

ps I must be careful what I write about the HSL because a former colleague is a senior manager for you know who...and IS IN FACT A LOVELY PERSON.

All these things are a waste of time.

Unless the conclusion is " you are wonderful" the senior management will bury any outcomes.
My company (big FT 100) have done 5 of these (every time a new management team arrives) in less than 10 years and I've never once seen the feedback from them.

Lol Ray, it is indeed tin!

Thanks for feedback. I am still after anyone with experience of using it, not necessarily because i'm looking to use it myself, but I have a few questions I would like to put past someone.
