Article 153 of the treaty... Go to the source of most of our problems! Do away with the euro commandment and we can get back to making sensible laws!

What’s wrong with article 153 of the treaty of Rome? It is aimed at creating a level playing field across the union. Without it individual countries could opt out of H&S as too onerous (not that our government would do that!) and so gain an unfair competitive advantage in the EU open market. What we need is better engagement in the way the EU drafts it’s directives.
