Why pay for someone to come in, your insurance company can provide some updates of claims etc and do a session for your directors, just ask , we did and they came in for free. We were able to relate this to our statisaitcs and recent RIDDORS etc. It had more meaning and kept it local and fresh.

Although the choice of course is meant to depend on how many people are employed within the business, the aims and objectives are to get senior managers to think about the strategy of managing h&s and therefore the syllabi(?) are very similar. My understanding is that for both courses the provider currently has to develop their own material against the syllabus and then get approval from IOSH, although IOSH did send around a survey last year asking who would buy an off-the-shelf IOSH Directing Safely. Therefore it's worth asking to see a training plan from the provider to check what they are going to do during the day meets your needs and will be of value.
