I haven't read the draft report yet, but a client tells me all employees will have to undergo training in the use of fire extinguishers under the new cdm regs, Has anybody seen this ?

I presume you are referring to this - 32.-(5) Each person at work on a construction site must, so far as is reasonably practicable, be instructed in the correct use of fire-fighting equipment which it may be necessary for the person to use.

Hardly a show stopper I would have thought.

... and which same requirement is in CDM07 anyway (regulation 41).

Is your client saying he doesn't comply with that requirement in CDM2007?

(Actually, in '07 it says "every person ... use of any fire-fighting equipment" and in '15 it says "Each person ... use of fire-fighting equipment", so one word has changed and one has been deleted, but the meaning is unaltered.)

Part 4 - the specific rules about site duties - is intended to be unaltered in meaning from '07 I believe.
