So i have recently completed the Chartered Membership journey, and i want to continue with my professional learning adventure. I have been looking at lots of different courses namely the post graduate certificates / diplomas and Masters courses. I would really appreciate fellow members views on value adding or not / there experience post CMIOSH and continued professional learning / and any courses that were value adding. (I.e. heads up to go and check out).

I understand that i am doing this round the wrong way usually one undertakes the course as part of the IPD / CPD journey to CMIOSH but hey ho im not conventional.

many thanks in advance

Matt

Probably Wrong Forum. PG Cert at Strathclyde offers distance learning 1 year. No exams, continuous assessment, and really broadens horizons. Much better than NEBOSH stuff in my opinion.
Hard work though!

Hi SHV, I am tending to lean towards the Occupational Health and safety management side, as i have a back ground in pharmaceutical sciences / bio-sciences i have an affinity for the human condition.

With regard to incorrect forum as i am new to all of this, i thought it was just a case of posting a new topic.

Hi Matt,

I'm going down the MSc route and covering health, safety and environment. As others have said, it is hard work but will be worth it in the end.

It is just a case of posting a new topic, but this may be better suited in one of the other forums (Study). We all live & learn.

Hi Kenty

If you don't mind me asking with whom are you doing your MSc? is it distant learning or full time?

I am all up for hard work having completed the NVQ 5 Diploma (DL), and undertaking the CMIOSH route. (studying keeps me focused and out of trouble with the wife).

You can complete a Post Grad Diploma at Loughborough Uni in Occupational Health & Safety in around 13 months.

To complete the MSc is another 12 months.
