Hello,
In the UK we are required to have a licence for using MEWPs (which specifies which MEWP you have been trained). In Germany, i have been informed that there is no licence for this, can anyone share any views on this.

There is no licence for using MEWPs in the UK, what you got is competency schemes.

Hi Katie,
Doubtless you've already figured out that the German H&S system is completely different to ours. I think the most definitive answer you would get would come from whichever insurance bureau covers the industry sector your working in. is it a UK company visiting to carry out work or a German company? (and do you have employees resident in Germany?)

The same directive applies to Germany as applies to the UK...there are regional differences in Germany that make interpretation just ever so slightly complicated.
It may be a little lost in translation?.. the certification that I have seen previously for other german contractors was in response to the question - Elevated work platfrom training- Hubarteitsbuhne Ausbildung.
depending on the quality of the contractor you may very well get the same response you get from a UK contractor...
I have reviewed a few German contractors working in the UK if you let me know who they are (PM) I can see if I can help more specifically.. :)
