Driver licence checks - after 15th June 2015

As you may know from 15th June the paper section of the driving licence will be abolished for some and the old style will not be amended by the DVLA. Information on the driver will be held on line.
There seems to be a charge of £5 for each application by a business to view the licence, although the driver can complete a check for themselves, as I understand.
In light of this, has anyone made any changes to arrangements to continue to comply with driver licence checks?

I forwarded the .Gov link onto our office team that are looking into amending how we go about checking our drivers. So in a way, yes.

I now use a web based service, costs £5 per person per check, all drivers complete an authorisation, results from DVLA database posted on password protected website. Have used since December 14 but working well so far, only hitch was for Northern Ireland license holders as process was different and cost £15 per head per check. Several companies offer the service just search for "driving license checking service". Our managers find it more efficient as they don't have to chase people to bring license in to check and they can't produce an old license.

this something we need to look at as we have a very complicated permit to drive system in place which involves operational staff/SHEQ/HR and individual business managers
