My company want me to maintain my registered membership of APS and pursue the new CMaPS grade so I have no choice but to take it.

My company engaged me some years ago as CDMC. They did not require RMaPS: but insisted on CMIOSH and NEBOSH Constrction Cert (and also substantial experience of design and construction, in addition to health and safety). None of our clients have ever asked for APS membeship but most were insistent about SSIP accreditation.
I will not be taking the exam: my employer agrees that there will be little, if any, business benefit from passing it. Although I am a current (Registered) CDMC / and RMaPS, I can't see any long term benefits in remaining a member

My employer wants us all to gain the C MaPS qualification but personally I see no benefit, I just had a look at the APS website and the exam is not live despite the announcement it would be,

CMaPS is not happening and I resigned when my RMaPS renewal fee was greater than my CFIOSH membership fee.
I have deliberately not burnt my bridges and left it open to re-join if there is a future requirement.
It will be interesting to see what happens to this organisation, but my gut feeling is that this will become a hybrid professional safety organisation which eventually be taken over.

This is an interesting topic and maybe I have read it just in time before I commit £700 + Vat of my own cash to NHBC for the three day course.
I thought doing the three dayer (and getting MAPS in the process) was a gift but on reading the threads below i'm now starting to wonder if I need to a. do a course to confirm what I already know and b. get MAPS.
REALLY confused now! any advice greatly received.

I think that it is going to take at least six to nine months before the dust settles and see how the PD role is being undertaken and I am sure that PI insurance will be the deciding factor regarding the future role of Principal Designers and CDM advisors.
