Hi All,

I just wondered what everyone's opinion is on adjustable workstations? It is a device that can either keep the computer equipment at desk level, or rise up to allow use of the computer whilst standing – it takes a couple of seconds to be raised or lowered. This would fit on any desk and enable the user to mix standing and sitting throughout the day.

They're brilliant. It also means particularly short or tall people can adjust the height to suit. In an ideal world every desk (and chair) would be fully adjustable - especially in hot desk situations.

However....the reasonably practicable test must be considered. It would cost a fortune and only benefit a small number of workers. I also note you work in the public sector, not sure a squeezed budget manager would be receptive.

They have their uses for people with particular medical/physiological needs.

Very good and we have used them with people with bad backs. Ideally all workstations should be like this. And they're not that expensive
