I am sure this question has been asked many times before. Is there a difference between a JHA/JSA & risk assessment?

JHA/JSA is an approach to Risk assessment popular in the US and other former colonies (e.g. Australia and Canada). It is more formal than the usual sort of RA and might seem over the top for lesser risks but it is useful in a process type environment. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Job_safety_analysis for an overview.
