Hi all
I have been asked by a client if there is a standard format for contractors identity badges when visiting other premises. Their particular clients are asking that the contractors wear an ID badge and people have been advising variously on the content of the badge.
I indicated its a good idea to provide a badge for security purposes and it probably should have a photo, company name and a telephone contact number at least.
Something short and simple is my thought.
Any other suggestions are appreciated
Thanks
Mark

Submit 'trade id badge supplier' to your favourite search engine and take your pick.
Cheap as chips and great for the Company image.

Note the difference between an “ID badge” and a “pass”.
An ID badge tells people who you are- I have one telling people who I work for and a contact telephone number if someone needs to check up my identity.
A pass lets me on the site. It just has my name on it and my photo.

As an aside to this topic I've noticed over the years that many people with ID badges dangling from lanyards or nylon chains tend to remain anonymous because their badges twist round, especially those on lanyards with swivel-type clips. Therefore, people who wear ID badges with lanyards or chains might benefit from sporadic reminders about ensuring that the fronts of their badges remain visible!
Also, can anyone suggest why badge lanyards tend to have swivel-type clips rather than non-swivelling ones? Could it be that the swivel-type ones are easier and cheaper to manufacture and/or that the makers tend to copy the products of their competitors?

I wear my id badge (name, photo, job title, company etc) around my neck on a lanyard, as do all the staff in our building, this is because we need the badge to pass through security doors, and yes its on the swivel type. Note: its impossible to keep the ones we use visible at all times, sometimes they are and sometimes there not.
