Hi all,
I have tried googling but seem to have been unsuccessful in finding anything concrete, but what qualifications would be required to work in a health and safety role in the states?
I'm currently 29, just taken NGC1 and GC2 yesterday, have three years experience as a SHEQ technician with four years as a union safety rep before that. My plan for the future is to take the fire cert, environmental and to start or have started the diploma by the time I'm 35. My long term goals is to work in the states as that's where my girlfriend is from (she doesn't know what is needed for safety roles either). Any help would be massively appreciated as I can then add the info into my goals for the future.
Thanks

They do have a qualification/accreditation called a "Certified Safety Professional" or CSP is the designation and you need to take an exam or assessment but I don't think they have qualifications in the same way as we do because OSHA laws are very prescriptive. Here is a link saying what you need to get this accreditation. http://www.bcsp.org/csp

Thank you so much, Hilary. That is extremely helpful and gives me something to plan and work towards.
