A few months on from the introduction of the new CDM Regs just wondered how you are finding the new requirements. No doubt all your contractors and sub-contractors are up to speed with everything...yeah right.

We are coping reasonably well!! It's the client that are taking an age to come to terms with it. We have used the PD role as an opportunity to enhance our skill set and as we don't really have a lot of design in our works the PD role is happening as a bit of a default just down to contractor numbers. I do wonder if the threshold for appointing a PD might revert back to notifiable jobs. Having a PD where there is no design and having two trades working is maybe a bit of overkill.

I have to say, surprisingly well!!

The regs seem to working for my company and our contractors and clients have all seemed to step up to the plate with their duties. Yes it has taken some prompting but I think we are getting there.

I honestly thought this version was going to be too messy but it seems to be working for the most part at the moment.

Just completing my first Design & Build PQQ (as PC) under the new regs, so a little bit of Friday-afternoon Q&A between parties about the PD is testing the brain cells, but it's all coming together...

I agree with Cobblers regarding the threshold of appointing a PD.

I have just completed a PQQ this afternoon for a large Co. with a potential contract value of £5m and it still referred to CDM 2007.

We are also still starting projects on site under CDM 2007 as the design / conception was pre April 6th.

Also just about to start of project (direct for client) where, in spite of us informing them of their duties to appoint a PD they haven't - So defaults to them.

As fit-out / refurb contractors we often find ourselves in the situation where the client has had designs created by A N Other co. and they then bring those to us to quote on but they had not appointed a PD during the design stage. That said this used to happen under CDM 2007 where the CDM-C was not appointed until after the majority of the design work was done.

CDM 2015 hasn't really made things any easier, but its no worse either.

Not so bad it appears from the few responses. Mixed bag as far as I'm concerned with the contractors who might have been a problem doing well and those who should know better not so well.
