Just noticed this is SHP (yes, I'm a bit late with my reading). Does this amount to positive discrimination? Did we have a "Men in Health and Safety forum?"

Why am I being singled out as a woman in health and safety - do I need additional help and support to be regarded as "professional" against my male counterparts?

I've been running the EHS function at my Company for 20 years very successfully. We've gone well over 1.6m hours without a lost time accident (equates to over 7 years), we hold certification to ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 and we are a manufacturing engineering plant.

Personally, I regard these groups or forums for individual sectors to be more damaging to diversity than helpful - am I alone in this opinion?

I guess the subjects covered will all to do with safety in the kitchen ............

Having re-read what you wrote , I may have got the wrong end of a stick; you are saying you are being patronised?

I'd agree thats not needed or helpful

I fortunately work for a company who have many women engineers (and I mean real engineers) and they certainly do not require special measures because of their gender.

Yay I'm a woman and I work in a profession I love!
