Hi all, Has anyone recent experience on the latest safe access methods for working on a fragile roof (asbestos sheets)? The work involves attaching equipment to the roof? We're after a few alternatives in order to pick the best / safest... Thanks in anticipation Steven

The AC sheets aren't load bearing and the purlins they're attached to are often lightweight too. I wouldn't be installing things on top of that if I could avoid it. If you're fitting a flue it would be best to fit this at the low point of the pitch or at a gable end. Ditto photovoltaic panels. You'll need to take specific precautions if you will be cutting the AC.

Sorry SBM, how long is a piece of string. There are so many ifs and buts it is difficult to comment. You could use:- •A long/high reach MEWP but you will need room to place it. •A crane but the man riding cradles move and are difficult to work from. • Scaffolding but this will require designing.
