All - please note my Managing Director received a letter from an unnamed Company this morning signed by the MD "Daryll Mattocks", asking him to call regarding help to complete the Govt Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (I suppose a highly paid consultant involved). This company is not required to complete ESOS and I have just produced and been accredited to ISO 50001, its was pain free and took about 6 weeks. No highly paid consultant involved !
After calling the number on the letter I discovered that this company who would not give me their name, have in fact contacted hundreds of companies scare mongering saying that you need ESOS.
My company dont meet the Govt criteria, so we dont require it.
Dont be fooled and dont give them your money. Its like these cons you receive at home.
Just warning other established H&S professionals to look out for their MDs

Dave - agree, these consultancies will jump on anything... and they will catch some out.. You know how they operate! Its like those unwanted calls at home!!!
