This is my first post here and I am bit confused. Hope someone here can help me out. Now I have been told to make Hazard Identification Plan (HIP) & Job Safety Analysis (JSA). The problem is that in both of them the hazards are being identified. So isn't it pretty much the same thing? Wouldn't it be repetitive?

Depending on your industry...generally hazard identification will occur during Workshop session using methods like HAZID, HAZOP or SWIFT or FAST (Aircraft industry related). JSA does pretty much what it says on the tin...this is Task specific (Job) risk assessment. Hope this helps :)

As Steve said, they are asking you to prepare a term of reference for (HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA..) Workshop and JSA is a just specific task hazards analysis In some cases they have some overlapping particularly in HAZID Workshop.. SHV

It does generally come from People who know that it should be in the deliverables for an EPCC but don't really know what it is or understand the standards... :)
